Refined and smooth curved Idman Oy floor lamp in brass and cane, designed by Paavo Tynell (attr), Finland 1950s

This elegantly shaped floor lamp that is commonly attributed to Paavo Tynell has an irregular and loosely woven fabric shade that is supported by a thin slanted brass pole. In the middle, the pole is wrapped with cane, creating a ‘handle’ that prevents finger stains on the brass. At the top, the lamp has a hinge to adjust the shade at a desired angle. A round brass plated steel base holds the item in it’s place.  

Marked on brass top: ‘Idman’.  Manufactured by Idman Oy, Finland 1950s.

Condition:

In good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use. The lamp has some small dimples on the foot.
