Pair of 'Mikado' chairs by Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen with back and legs in nut wood, seat of beech. Model J152. Designed in 1996. Manufactured by Kvist Møbler.

The Mikado chair is a modern interpretation of the 18th-century Windsor chair, with a constructin that uses the same principles as the Windsor chair, whereby the seat holds both the back and the legs.

Condition:

Wear due to age and use. Item has marks and scratches. Veneer damage. Lacquer crackles.

Exhibitions:

Winner of the Bo Bedre Furniture Prize in 1996. The chair won the prize for its characteristic design, combining untraditional ideas with beautiful craftsmanship, and the use of old cabinetmakers' techniques.
