This brutalist coffee table has multiple defining details to it, from the charismatic patina to the artisan hand carved top. The design - while being based on traditional forms - has a modern twist, which makes it perfect for contemporary interiors.

Uncluttered, without unnecessary ornamentation; instead, this low coffee table has a strong elemental feel to it, which is a result of its thick, round oak tabletop and sturdy legs. The focus is on the material, letting the beautiful qualities of the oak wood stand out. The craftsman’s handiwork is visible throughout the table, adding to its organic charm. Each movement made with the chisel is visible, yet, the surface still looks smooth. Uniquely, the dowels are left visible on the top and are arranged in a circle. The dowels used for joining the separate pieces are also visible on the legs, which enhances the raw, organic look. As there are strong and distinctive details, this table model is a perfect accent table, while also being capable to complement its surroundings. It could fit well in an Axel Vervoordt-style interior, as well as in a minimalist space.

The simple design serves the purpose of showing the understated, natural beauty of oak and traditional woodworking’s endless possibilities under the hands of an artisan craftsman. Furthermore, oak is an especially durable hardwood that is extremely multi-faceted with a beautiful grain and texture as seen on the wide tabletop.
