The Gallery

Located just outside of Amsterdam, H. Gallery is a specialist in 20th century and contemporary design, and represents an eminent group of modern and contemporary designers whose work is characterised by outstanding craftsmanship and timeless creation.

The H. Collection houses exceptional and rare pieces from all over the world, with an emphasis on Brazilian and Scandinavian collectibles. Through great care, meticulous research and documentation, we host exhibitions that preserve and promote quality, refined craftsmanship and design heritage. Along with the showroom, the gallery has an in-house photo studio and dedicated restoration team, ensuring the quality of everything we offer.

H. Gallery was founded in 2015 by film- and advertising director Jelmar Hufen. The Gallery’s initial pieces came from Hufen’s private collection that he assembled amidst filming in different locations around the world. Thanks to his opportunities to scout markets, galleries and fairs, the collection quickly overgrew his house, then external storages, slowly boiling the idea to show his collection to the public. After continually getting asked by collectors and art directors to find and acquire works for them, Hufen realised it was time to take the next step, which came to be H. Gallery.

While still at the helm of film shoots, although a bit less frequent now, every work is personally overseen by Hufen, from the acquisition of each piece to the meticulous research and photography. Together with the Gallery’s team of professionals and specialists, Hufen works with passion on leading H. Gallery.

Frequently featured artists at H. Gallery include Jorge Zalszupin, Carlo Hauner en Martin Eisler, Lina Bo Bardi, José Zanine Caldas, Joaquim Tenreiro, Axel Einar Hjorth, Poul Kjaerholm, Ib Kofod-Larsen, Pierre Chapo, Serge Mouille, and a select group of contemporary artists like the Campana Brothers, Domingos Tótora, and Babs Haenen.
