Bas Van Pelt (attr.) High Back Armchairs in Oak and Straw, the Netherlands 1940s (sold)

$0.00

Elegant pair of armchairs in solid oak and straw, commonly attributed to Dutch designer Bas Van Pelt. The construction of this rare early 1940s design is quite traditional and basic, yet very elegant and clear due to the open character of the frame.

Horizontal open spaces in the back make a subtle detail, emphasizing the openness of the design. The fluid lines of armrests nicely contrast with the straight lines of the frame and clearly show wonderful craftsmanship. Using natural materials the designer created a friendly and inviting appearance. Due to the well chosen proportions, these chairs provide great comfort.
