The best thing about hanging ceiling lights - besides their stylish look - is that they are a great option to make interiors appear more spacious. They can be used to concentrate light, or to just add an accent to the room.
This lamp’s design revolves around the geometric harp. Normally, a lamp harp is but a common component of a lamp to which the shade is attached. Here however, it is the main design element that sets the overall impression. Like with classic lamps, the harp is composed of two parts, the saddle which is fastened under the lamp socket, and the frame attached to the saddle at its lower end and to the rod at its upper end. This brass frame holds the robust opaline-like shade. The light colour of the glass and it’s shape greatly accentuate the harp’s smooth surface and brass colour, the contrast creates great visual interest.
Adding to this contrast in shapes is the long brass rod stemming from the harp. The evidently modern approach particularly exemplifies the aesthetic of European mid-century lighting design, favouring unique shapes and forms. The airy arrangement further accentuates the separate elements and the quality of the execution.
