This unique ceiling lamp is a beautiful example of the functional and stylish character of mid-century Swedish design. This model appears modern and classic at the same time, attributes of a truly timeless design.

Swedish Modern was style-forming and came about through the determined aesthetic and social efforts to raise the standard of the Swedish home and to improve the taste for a better quality of design. This ceiling lamp certainly achieved that through its visual and material quality. The peculiar design is the result of the brass structure on which the frosted glass shade sits. The canopy and straight tube is in a classic form, but then the form is reversed and instead of hanging, the glass shade is facing up sitting on the pendant holder. The frosted glass shade has an organic shape, and is semi-transparent, diffusing light for a softer look. This in turn creates a soft atmospheric source of light that complements the brass structure by making it glow. The most outstanding design element is the rethought harp that connects the shade with the tube. It is bent into an artistic curved shape. This modern and artistic approach particularly exemplifies the aesthetic of Swedish mid-century lighting design, favouring organic shapes and forms, and of course, brass. The airy arrangement further accentuates the separate elements and the quality of the execution.

While the softly curved, frosted glass shade and decorative brass body are typical of Swedish lighting designs of the era, the creatively used harp still sets this rare model apart. Its streamlined modernism makes it an ideal addition to any interior style and space.
