This “milchschrank” or milk cabinet is a beautiful piece of history featuring beautiful elements of craftsmanship, including a two-door solid wood corpus with cranked panels.

This original, authentic milk cabinet from the second half of the 18th century carries with it the best attributes of the Baroque style, with highly ornate and elaborate details and an artisan level of craftsmanship. Thanks to this, it became the first visual style to have a significant worldwide impact. The milk or bread cabinet finds its origin as far back as the 1400s. This piece of furniture was in use in almost every household at the time and could not be missing in any kitchen. This cabinet has a traditional structure with a sturdy construction made of solid wood. The front is decorated with three sets of cranked panels, with doors between them. In addition to the typical regional structure, the profiled, cranked frames of the doors and the iron fittings are stylistic. Behind the doors are shelves arranged at differing heights to be suitable to store various items. The doors can be locked with metal locks and keys. In most cases, the head of the household kept the key to this kitchen furniture. Apart from the front, this cabinet showcases the wood’s natural, raw beauty, especially on the top where the pattern and grain is left in the focus. The cabinet rests on two, carved sledge feet that assure great stability.
