This large set of chairs designed by Edward J. Wormley, the longtime director of design for the Dunbar furniture company, is still as marvellous as when it was designed. Drawn in simple lines, these chairs have a timeless quality and signal subtle craftsmanship from every angle. The dark walnut frame has rectangular tapered legs and goes all around below the seat. The sand coloured upholstery in combination with the dark coloured base makes these chairs very versatile for any type of interior. The seat and back are slightly tilted backward enhancing the comfort the chair. The design looks simplistic, yet these chairs were made with high attention and clearly build to last.

Interestingly the elegantly shaped walnut frame is very similar to some designs by Brazilian design legend Joaquim Tenreiro. Although if there was any, it was most likely the latter being influenced by Wormley.

Upholstery:

The upholstery on these item has recently been redone by the previous owner. However clients that prefer different upholstery are advised to contact us for the possibilities. We work closely with some of the best upholsterers in the Netherlands and have a big archive documenting the original ways in which pieces where upholstered, ensuring every piece will not only look it's best in the years to come but will also retains it's value.
