Jorge Zalszupin 'Paulistana' Lounge Chair, Brazil 1960 (sold)

Jorge Zalszupin 'Paulistana' Lounge Chair, Brazil 1960 (sold)

$0.00

'Paulistana' lounge chair and ottoman designed by Jorge Zalszupin. This stunning chair in cognac leather and Brazilian plywood comes from the personal collection of Oscar Niemeyer.

The design and comfortable appearance is reminiscent of the famous Lounge Chair 670 by Charles and Ray Eames, but has a slightly exuberant twist to it. Interestingly the base of the chair and ottoman are matt black, instead of chromed spring steel. We are not sure what's the reason for this, but it could be that this chair is an early version or has been customised for Oscar Niemeyer personally.

The chair is in good vintage condition. Some scratches, cracks in plywood, six screws have been replaced and are covered by fabric. Re-upholstered.
