Rare Kurt Østervig lounge chair from Denmark 1960s.

This pleasantly peculiar easy chair is designed by Kurt Østervig. The wide armrests are round and the teardrop-shaped front panels have a raised border all around them. The armrests are continued all the way to the backside of the chair where they embrace the backrest. The backrest points upwards at both ends creating a dent in de middle. Both the backrest and the seat both consist of two layers, one hard and constructive and on top of this a softer cushion providing comfort. The wide seat is supported by a nicely crafted teak wooden frame with the legs tilted outwards. De seat is upholstered in a light original fabric. The chair was most likely manufactured by Ryesberg Møbler in the 1960s.
