Model “K10-10” is a piece that carries the finest mid-century marks of elegance: quiet in its nature, yet striking in its role as a useful design object. Known for its characteristic conical shade, the design creates a subtle harmony in proportions. This distinctive detail gives the design its nickname, commonly known as the “Nun’s hat” due to its striking resemblance to the head covering. Made out of a white metal sheet with a small decorative - as well as functional - design element, the rim features a finely perforated finish. The small incisions allow the light to escape and break the otherwise centred focus of the reflector cone. For a more upward or downward facing ray of light, the lampshade can be adjusted at the neck. On this joint a fine engraving is visible, noting the manufacturer’s mark of Idman. The lamp’s rod is covered with meticulously arranged rattan fibres, ascending down in a precise alignment, twisting and turning in a gradient of brown tones along the whole vertical stem.
