Low, diffused light is an instant interior mood-lifter, so lampshades are decorating essentials. At night, a stylish lampshade can cheer up a room, emitting a gentle light. During the day, a stylish lampshade can double as a piece of decorative art.

This model is all about its brass structure and unique, ruched lampshade. Ruching is a fabric manipulation technique used to give a fabric texture and dimension by repeatedly pleating and folding the material. The classic bell shade has a white lacquered metal wire structure supporting its shape, and a truly unique element in the form of a ribbon running around the shade through perforated holes. The space between the pleats can thus be customized freely, with the possibility to change the diameter of the whole lampshade. The brass shaft standing on the round base has an understated look that allows the lampshade and the curved neck holding it to stay in the design’s focus. The so-called “goose neck” allows the light to be directed at variable angles, making this model a great task light as well. The shade’s pleats and the decorative twisted rope ribbon are a nod to the long and celebrated history of Swedish arts and crafts, and these elements give this lamp a unique look. Combined with the brass elements, the design offers a variety of points of visual interest.

The Swedish company, Boréns manufactured this lamp with outmost care for its quality. The company was amongst the most renowned Swedish lighting manufacturers during the mid-century era, working with some of the most well-known Scandinavian designers. This model "7210" floor lamp shows the great success these international collaborations brought by.
