This lamp is constructed out of a triple-stem body, in which three slender copper supports rise from a broad domed base before converging to create a unified form. This arrangement creates a sense of lightness while giving the base a sculptural character. The copper has acquired a rich patina over time, lending it a charming, lived-in feeling. A wide conical shade complements the composition, its crisp geometric profile contrasting with the softly rounded forms below. The restrained material palette allows the silhouette to take centre stage, while the careful proportions ensure that every element, from the unique base to the delicate neck beneath the socket, feels balanced. Art Deco developed internationally during the 1920s and 1930s, bringing geometric forms and stylized ornament into architecture, furniture, lighting, and decorative objects. Geometry became one of its most recognisable characteristics, with stepped profiles, repeated lines, and clear volumes appearing across the decorative arts. This pendant lamp embodies the movement through a striking decorative construction.

The pendant is constructed around a hexagonal wooden shade featuring a sequence of stepped, concentric tiers. Each successive layer decreases toward the center, producing a shallow inverted-pyramid profile and giving depth to the shade. The repeated horizontal edges emphasize the geometry, while the visible grain and warm tone of the wood soften the otherwise precise composition. Along the surface, carved horizontal elements offer the shade a dynamic appearance, with flowing lines guiding the eye across the wood. A small spherical wooden finial marks the center of the shade and visually completes its downward profile. Above, a long slender suspension rod connects the shade to a compact wooden ceiling canopy, keeping the structure simple and allowing the unusual wooden shade to remain the main feature. The brass rod complements the warmth of the wood, the two materials working together to created a cohesive piece. To increase its functionality, the inside of the shade is painted white, allowing the light to bounce toward the ceiling and create ambiance despite the opacity of the wood.

The Swedish company ASEA was established in the early 1900s and has a renowned legacy in the world of high-quality lighting design models for residential and commercial spaces. The company was broadly known for its more large-scale projects, such as steam turbines or locomotives. However, starting in 1911, they started to catch the eyes of design lovers for their commitment to excellence, reflected in the numerous collaborations with prominent architects and designers such as Lisa Johansson-Pape and Sven Aage Holm Sørensen. These partnerships have resulted in innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions that are highly sought after.

ASEA's dedication to minimalist design, distinctive details, and premium materials is evident in their timeless pieces, including this floor lamp. Model “E1815,” is constructed from a slender, forward-leaning stem rising from a low circular cast-iron base. The lower section of the stem is dark, visually extending the black base upward before transitioning into a lighter brass shaft. This contrast gives the lamp a clear vertical juxtaposition of materials. The brass stem continues uninterrupted toward the shade, then curves into a loop at the top. Suspended from this curved section is a small tapered fabric shade, angled downward so that the light is concentrated below. The shade’s shape allows the stem to pass through, creating a unique visual effect. Chromatically, its pale fabric provides a softer counterpoint to the dark iron and warm brass. With no decorative elements added to the base or shaft, the visual interest comes from the materials, angled form and the curved design detail and the top.
