A well-chosen lighting piece can embellish and shift the atmosphere of any interior. In Scandinavia, interior lighting was of particular importance - with dark winters in Nordic countries, light has been used to bring a feeling of coziness and warmth within, referred to as “mysigt” in Swedish, or more widely known as the Danish concept of “hygge”. Swedish designers have mastered the art of “mys”, crafting some of the most unique and modern lamps of Scandinavia.

Following Scandinavian Modern characteristics, this chandelier remains minimalist in its design; it has a classic aesthetic and quality that can complement different styles and interiors. Composed of brass and milk glass, a choice of material brilliant in its simplicity, much attention was paid to the quality and craftsmanship involved in the manufacture. The upward-facing shades resembling globes rest on eight curved brass arms arranged symmetrically. The arms have a pronounced curve in an S-shape and hold the shades with a brass plate. These arms meet at the diamond-shaped central cluster, with the black lacquer contrasting against the brass accents, further attracting the eye to the centre of the lamp. The brass on the cluster also reveals intricate wavy details. Beautiful geometric forms and symmetry dominate the structure, balanced by straight, clean lines, such as that of the rod. This contrast between the shapes and forms naturally engages the eyes and creates a stylish modern aesthetic. When the light is switched on, the chandelier illuminates the beautiful brass patina and creates an exceptional atmospheric light.

Chandeliers, such as this 1940s model, have an important role in creating an ambience that is both cosy and stylish while avoiding compromising on quality and functionality.‎ This design is very successful in creating a “mysigt” atmosphere, mixing traditional and modern elements while staying true to the guiding principles of Scandinavian Modernism. It follows the same "organic modern" approach of Scandinavian mid-century lighting designers, among them Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen, Finnish icon Alvar Aalto, and Swedish innovator, Hans-Agne Jakobsson.
