The artistic flair is apparent with this set of four dining chairs. The design uses elements of geometry to create a unique look based on the natural qualities of wood.

These chairs have an interesting look as a result of the structure that resembles a folding chair, however, here the separate parts are secured tightly with rivets, which creates an architectural impression. The seats appear as if they are “floating” held solely by the elongated wooden legs. Sculptural and minimal at the same time, furniture with architectural precision are popular for a good reason; these pieces serve an aesthetic purpose in addition to their practical role. These chairs’ sculptural look -that is all the more appealing when placed together - brings the unique aesthetic deeper into the space and gives the chance to physically interact with art. The backs and seats are lacquered white to create a colour block that, against the natural wood, is a modern touch that highlights the smart solutions of the structure. The overall design recalls the Finnish designer, Yrjö Wiherheimo and architect Rudi Merz’s “Pinna” chair model that also utilizes negative space.

Sculptural furniture is a large umbrella term that includes many different design styles. What they all have in common is pushing the boundaries of what residential design should and could be. This set of four is sure to bring a modern flair to any space.
