This elegant pair of lounge chairs is an interesting bridge between the 20th century’s earlier artistic movements like Art Deco, and the modernist movement that was about to shape most of Europe’s furniture design for the coming decades.

Dominated by curves, the chairs have beautiful, almost sculptural structures that evoke the high-end craftsmanship of both design movements. Each chair features a reclined rectangular curved back over a deep seat. The thick seat cushions and button tufted backs further contribute to the comfort and coziness. These chairs don’t have any embellishment, rather, the elegant upholstery and the beauty of the oak take on a decorative role. The arms attach to the body effortlessly, without any visible joinery, as if just emerging from the fabric naturally. The light colour of the upholstery in combination with the richly coloured oak frame create a warm elegance, perfect to bring a modern touch to any space. The combination of solid wood and high-quality upholstery is traditional in mid-century design for a good reason.

Condition:

In good vintage condition. Wear consistent with age and use. Some minor scratches and marks on the wood. The chairs have been reupholstered recently in a premium fabric. Each of our items can be re-upholstered by our in-house atelier in a fabric of choice. Please reach out for more information.
