This sideboard was created for Asko, the Finnish furniture manufacturing company founded in 1918 by Aukusti Asko Avonius, known for the production of high-quality furniture. By 1930 the company had developed into the largest furniture chain in Finland and the largest supplier of furniture in the Nordic countries.

The design features a symmetrical shape and offers an uncomplicated silhouette, which serves a clear purpose, yet beautiful detail; a quality that is quintessentially modern. Combining tradition and modernity, Asko created pieces with a great consideration for functionality. This sideboard is evidence of this pursuit, thanks to its streamlined aesthetic and impressive storage volume. The use of wood gives the sideboard a very calm, natural feeling. The veneer has a beautiful grain and pattern that stands out on the large surfaces that make up the sides.
