The Savonarola originates from a chair found in the convent of San Marco in Florence which was used by the 15th century Italian Dominican priest Girolamo Savonarola. Savonarola-style pieces feature a lower structure built from intersecting or flowing supports. In Italian design, it was often constructed from wrought iron, where curved elements replace rigid straight lines and create a sense of movement within the structure.

This side table applies that approach through a wrought iron base composed of curved, flowing supports. These slender metal elements connect beneath the surface, creating a continuous structure that feels both stable and dynamic.
