This elegant, sculptural table lamp is a distinctive piece exemplifying Finnish designer, Mauri Almari’s artistic design language. In addition to the aesthetic dimension, the quality of this lamp is also true to it’s Finnish heritage.

The model “K11-21” lamp has a classic, inherently stylish design that contemporary pieces still try to mimic. Like many of the decade’s designs, this table lamp masterfully pairs materials and textures. As a result, the design has an essentially mid-century modern look thanks to the understated, but unique design choices. The defining feature is undoubtedly the sculpted brass body with a teardrop shape. The polished surface shows off the brass’s beautiful patina, while the elongated necks enhance the thickness of the lower parts. The thin neck is also a visual bridge connecting the cylindrical fabric shade to the body. The white fabric is a beautiful material match to the brass, just like the shape. Instead of creating tension, the contrasting shape and materials bring the design into perfect balance.
